mole hill.

Let Your Senator Know That Every Vote Counts!
Last year, because of your support, Congress passed the Help America Vote
Act (HAVA). This law was enacted to prevent the chaos of the 2000 election
from recurring and ensure that every vote counts in 2004.
Among its reforms, HAVA requires states to upgrade voting equipment, create
statewide voter registration databases, ensure provisional ballots are available,
and to expand access for voters with disabilities. When HAVA was approved,
Congress promised to provide $3.9 billion to accomplish these reforms. But
that has not happened - only a fraction of the funding has reached the states.
This week, Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT) will offer an amendment to the
Iraq supplemental funding bill to fully fund HAVA.
Please call your Senators today and urge them to support the Dodd amendment
and make sure all of our votes are counted in the 2004 election. Your Senators
can be reached by calling the Senate Switchboard at 202.224.3121 or directly
