Updates / Tomorrow - CVV's Position

I called Drew Durham's office (303-894-2200x6307) and left a voicemail asking him to fax me a confirmation of the SoS Extension Request.

Anyone want to grab coffee this afternoon and talk about next steps, including tomorrow morning's meeting? I thought our coffee after the presentation was productive and fun and I'm sure there were some great ideas for our next steps (like the "Citizen's Specification") that I didn't include in my last e-mail.

Regarding tomorrow's meeting, I just want to reiterate with the group that Citizen's for Verifiable Voting's position is that: absolutely no DRE systems should be purchased at this time for reasons we have clarified to the Commissioners; any system eventually chosen must be based on a single (presumably hand-marked, since "DMP" Direct Mark Paper devices aren't available yet) full-text paper ballot that is centrally scanned on a system that is [fully?] disclosed to citizens [?].

From our disclosure experts: What are some of criteria for Disclosure? I have sent e-mails to both Hart and Avante asking them to state their willingness to disclose their systems to citizen review.

Also, Jim Burris, the County's information officer, told me last night that he thought that the Public Hearing would be held before Christmas, so please stay ready to attend such a meeting on relatively short notice sometime in the next two weeks!
