RE: SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 04-010 CONCERNING PAPERLESS VOTING SYSTEMS.
Thanks Paul -
We will assemble for testimony 9:30 AM Tuesday March 2 on the third floor,
at the Senate State Affairs committee meeting room, 353 or 354 I think.
Senate Joint Resolution SJR04-010 "Concerning Paperless Voting Systems"
presents the legislature a chance to voice their concerns, without creating
issues with incumbent officials, laws, or practices, since it enacts no law;
rather, it is an educational argument put in formal style.
The CFVI wholeheartedly backs the Keller Resolution as a step towards
trustworthy elections, as it identifies the serious weaknesses and dangers
in paperless voting, and as it advocates "
"... the requirement to produce a ballot, printed on paper, from any such
DRE machine, which the voter can inspect and approve and cast, along with
the requirement to vest these voter-verified paper ballots as the ultimate
and only authoritative documents for any count, recount, audit, or other
verification of results;"
It also calls for the sentiment of the resolution to be reported to the
Secretary of State, the Colorado U.S. congressional delegation, and several
national election commissions and boards.
