RE: Blind voters rip e-machines

Bob (et al),

One of the reasons that many of the DREs were ruled out in Boulder County
was that they couldn't pass the test by our blind committee member. Most of
them used a digital voice, which was difficult to understand.
Touchscreens were also an issue, because how is a blind voter going to be
able to make a selection?

The Hart Intercivic box jumped to the top of the stack, because it uses a
prerecorded voice and does not use touchscreen technology.

Obviously we still have issues with DREs in BC, but if our county were to
purchase them touchscreens and digital voices wouldn't be on the A list.
