Presentation tomorrow to the Boulder County Commissioners
Hello everyone,
As some of you know, I have been working to encourage Boulder County to
hand-count a statistically-significant random sample of ballots in
upcoming elections. This process is intended to ensure that the ballot
scanning machines are counting votes the same way that humans would.
There are several factors that are preventing this from happening. One of
them is that Hart InterCivic's ballot-counting software does not currently
generate a report that would make this hand-counting process possible. I
believe that the County should require such a report to be implemented in
Hart's software.
Tomorrow -- Tuesday, August 3rd -- I will be presenting this case to the
county commissioners. I don't expect the presentation to be
earth-shattering, but I would enjoy your company, if you can make it.
Susan Ashcraft tells me that the presentation is scheduled for the end of
the business meeting. I don't know when this will be, but I've been asked
to be there at 10:30 AM. The commissioners will be meeting in the their
meeting room on the third floor of the Boulder County Courthouse at 13th
and Pearl.
