RE: Friday 1/14 BoCo Election meeting?

Peter Richards and Neal McBurnett did. I also noted Barb Anuta and someone
who came with her that I did not know and neither of them spoke.
Neal was quite helpful in pointing out some of the problems with the GUI and
other software on the Hart scanners.
Neal might be called as a witness in the future. Members of the committee,
self included, learned quite a bit. Lots of questions were developed.

Next week we plan to interview the county purchasing people and the printer.

We also intend to make a change to the format to allow citizen comments both
before and after our meetings.
For all those that intend to make comments to the committee: The committee
doesn't have anything to do with the City of Boulder's upcoming election. If
you come to make comments (or demands) about COB's March election you will
be wasting your time and everyone else's. The chair has repeatedly addressed
this in telling commenters that the COB election is the business of clerk of
Boulder and its city council.

So far only Neal has made comments addressing the issues before the
committee.

To reiterate, from our bylaws:
1. MISSION. The mission of the Boulder County 2004 Election Review
Committee is to identify the causes for the delay in receiving the final
count of votes in the November 2, 2004 general presidential election and to
determine what actions need to be taken or measures implemented to avoid
such delays in the future.

Since the will complete its task on or about April 15th, it will not to be
able to make suggestions for the March COB election. This is a committee of
the County of Boulder, not the City of Boulder.
The committee will interview those persons that were involved with the 2004
general election, not a yet to be City of Boulder election.

Generally and personally: I welcome constructive positivism. Good listening
helps too. If your comments are really questions, and they were answered
during the current session while you were present, I for one can't see how
you will be taken seriously.
Making verbal attacks upon the members of the committee; shouting; and
making demands will get poor listening. We are serious people and I think
that I am in a group of well-intentioned people. Please come and
participate, but please be civil.
