RE: Paul Tiger is sending you this article from Al-Jazeera Englishweb site.
I find it extremely disheartening to have such difficulty in figuring out
what elections systems are being used to create new democracies in foreign
lands. I've had similar troubles finding any info on elections in the former
soviet bloc countries.
Beat made it pretty clear to me that US elections are just the tip of the
iceberg. If the US is running around the globe pushing for democracy using
flawed elections systems, it won't just be US citizens that are screwed. Why
not vote now for the One World Government? There will be only one button to
press, or one box to check.
Anyway, I made Al-Jazeera my home page in order to be able to read up on the
issues from authors closer to the ground in Iraq. It looks to me like these
elections systems and processes have just been accepted. They don't seem to
think that there is an issue.
Any sources for alternative press on Iraq's elections would be nice.

I've read via Googling about a week ago that a (North?) American CPA with
Harris [et al.] in
its name was handling the centralized "counting" in Baghdad (Green Zone,
probably).
