RE: ERC Public Hearing and Comments

I'm not entirely satisfied with our minutes in general terms. I think that
Melba had no problems getting the statements of people speaking to the
committee, but the sessions in which we begin to discuss things amongst
ourselves becomes fairly difficult for her. Probably difficult for most
people. Ten people all talking, mostly out of turn. She's got a small
recorder that is laying on the table next to her. It's got the dynamics of a
squashed bug. People sitting fifteen feet from it with five other making an
acoustic body block doesn't help.

I had the idea when we started this that all the meetings would be recorded
and possibly even video taped. That's not happening, and truth be told its
not something that I have the time slices to worry about. I'm glad to have
the skills to stick stuff on a website, and the time to do it.
I stick with my notes and recollections for my part in the work. If you want
to know what's being said, come and listen.

And Richard, as much as I think that you are a pain-in-the-ass, I appreciate
that you ARE involved and DO show up. Both you and Allison. You're involved
in the process and that makes a difference. We may never see eye-to-eye
politically, or tactically, but from one pain-in-the-ass to another - thanks
for showing up and being vocal.
