RE: DFA meeting tomorrow night, May 4th - election reform
Evan,
Sorry you couldn't attend. I think the meeting was a success. Joe Pizzello
and I discussed our respective views on reforming elections. We agreed on
98% of the issues even though we had different visions of the solution.
I don't know about the "dems." We just used their building as a meeting
place. DFA is non-partisan as is The Democracy Technology Project.
The Democracy Technology Project is opposed to Touch Screen Voting Machines.
Our position on public vs. private voting is summed up in our 15th
Requirement:
"15. The voting technology should be owned by the people, without
encumbrance, and all details should be available for public inspection,
without constraint."

How did this go? I wish I could have come. Were the Dems at all
interested in govt doing the most important public business in
public or are they going to let it continue to be done in private in
a black box?
