SATURDAY: March and Rally
Boulder - On Saturday, July 29, 2006 the public is invited to gather in a peace march and rally to call for an end to the senseless and escalating violence in Lebanon, Israel and Palestine that has been rocking the area with greater and greater deadly results in recent weeks. The peace march will begin at the north lawn area of Boulder Public Library (Canyon Blvd, west of Broadway) at 10 am, Saturday, July 29 and progress through the Farmer's Market (13th Street and Canyon Blvd) and end in a rally in front of the Boulder County Courthouse (Pearl Street Mall & 14th Street). Speakers at the rally will come from diverse backgrounds, both religious and ethnic including Christian, Muslim and Jewish, and Israeli, Palestinian, Lebanese and United States. Music from the middle east will be included. Speakers will be calling for a cessation to the cycle of violence and for positive steps to find peace. Please pass the word and invite all peace seekers to come. Our collective voices must be heard to counter the wave of violence in the middle east and to turn around the mindless rush to use weapons and force to solve problems when they have not and will never work.
The event is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center. Rich Andrews |
