Hi All,
The CFVI Board signed on to a letter asking that voting places make available emergency paper ballots this November. The deadline for signing the letter was moved up, so we couldn't take it up ahead of time at last Tuesday's regular CFVI meeting; when we did meet on Tuesday, those present agreed that it would be good if we could follow up with additional requests for action on this issue. Brad Friedman of BradBlog.org is making this easy for people to do, as you will see below.
Please forward this to others you think would be interested in signing.
Thanks.
Margit

An update on the Emergency Ballots sign on letter:
Brad Friedman writes that the final letter, with signatories, was sent this morning via certified return-receipt requested mail. A copy is attached here in PDF format, and the letter can also be found on-line at
http://www.BradBlog.com/Docs/EmergencyPaperBallots_States_FINAL_Signed_101106.pdf
Brad also writes: I've posted an article announcing the letter, including background, etc., a copy of the letter and a link to the downloadable version here:
http://www.bradblog.com/?p=3576 Hopefully everyone signed on will also run the letter in full and make it available for download on their sites (and inform their members about it!) as well. PDA tells me they will have an online action petition set up shortly for citizens to send their own letter to Govs and SoS (and some State ED's) in support of this letter and effort, and urging them to implement needed Emergency Paper Ballot plans and procedures. If other groups wish to do the same, I'll be more than happy to publicize that as much as I can.
