military returning ballots by email
Hi All,
We were very frustrated during the last state legislative session to be unable to persuade the legislators that voting to allow overseas soldiers to return their absentee ballots by emails was not a good idea. SB-062 on the subject sailed through both houses. Alice Madden, the exception among Democrats, voted against the bill. A few more House Republicans did, probably thanks to Al Kolwicz educating them on the issue.
Anyway, the people who produced the original report on a prior military email-voting program (SERVE), which influenced the military to scrap the original program, have now commented on the military's follow-up program, which relates to CO's legislation. It is short and succinct, and can be found at
www.servesecurityreport.ivas.pdf. It is also attached.
