Dear CFVI.
We are trying to set up a meeting of election reform groups and other advocates to plan a legislative agenda for the 2007 Colorado legislative session. We need to work over the summer to draft bills and recruit sponsors for this legislative action. SOS Coffman stated in his recent newsletter that he is working on his legislative agenda for next year. To avoid playing defense, and to take the initiative on election reform in Colorado, we need to be prepared and to do the hard work now before the chaos of the session sets in.
Please come the CFVI meeting on Tuesday evening , June 12th in Denver with SPECIFIC legislative ideas. Write them down. Think about them ahead of time. If you can not attend the meeting, please send your written ideas to Cary Lacklen at his email address ( cclacklen@xxxxxxxxxxx).
We are at the Vote Trust conference in Washington, DC - I am sure that we will return to Colorado with some good ideas for the 2008 election cycle.
Thanks for your help and work on Colorado elections.
Sincerely,
Cary C. Lacklen

Date: Thu, 7 Jun 2007 18:14:49 -0600
Hi All,The second Tuesday of the month approaches (June 12th), and that means (sometimes) a regularly scheduled meeting. Since our last meeting was in Boulder, this will be in Denver -- at the law office of Cary's friend.A Board meeting will be from 6PM to 6:30, and a regular meeting after that. The address is:Richelano and Gilligan, 633 17th St (near California), Suite 1700, Denver. After a certain time (7PM?), you must sign in at the desk. If you are coming from Boulder, try the 20th St. exit; left on 20th; right on Larimer; left on 17th.Suggestions for agenda items?Board: website and lists --- progress reportGeneral: Research?Legislation: bring your ideas for specific changes to existing law.Approval of minutes.MargitPS: PULEEZE get your forms in so we can get estimates on liability insurance! Also, only one of us sent me his preferred schedule for meetings; hence we continue to meet the 2nd and 4th tuesday, even though Ivan can no longer meet on the 2nd Tuesday.Margit Johansson303-442-1668/ margitjo@xxxxxxxxx
