Hi All,

HB08-1155, "Concerning the Authority of the Secretary of State to Continue the Certification Process for Voting Systems Retested by the Secretary of State", has passed the House and been through the Senate State...Affairs Committee, where it was amended so re-certication measures of the Secretary of State would expire after 2009.

We believe that this sunset provision is a good one.

HB08-1155 is scheduled to come up before the whole Senate tomorrow; it is listed as the 9th bill to be considered.

We understand that the amendment to allow the re-certications to expire after 2009 may be challenged.

PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO CALL YOUR STATE SENATOR AND URGE HIM/HER TO SUPPORT THE BILL AS AMENDED, PRESERVING THE SUNSET PROVISION.
