Re: TIME: 7PM/ CFVI (and others) meeting this Wed, Oct.1.

Emergency session of the legislature anyone?  They are supposed to control elections.

I've heard this thing about Colorado being a "swing state" before, too, and I think it was from Steve Farber.

That troubles me immensely.  Colorado has only--what, seven?--electoral votes.  No way can it be a swing state, unless the vote is so evenly matched throughout the U.S. that seven electoral votes can make a difference.  It looks like someone is planning the contest to come down to the wire HERE, and what reason do you think there can be for that, you guys?  Do you think they know this is the state in which they can control the outcome best?

grrr...

Hi All,
The meeting will be at 7PM at my house: 3938 Wonderland Hill Avenue, Boulder.
Joe is right: we need to vote up or down on Palast comic book.
People with agenda items: write them down and bring them to the meeting, and make sure they get discussed.

Also, can people at the last meeting try to find Mary's notes and see if they are missing anything???

I have some opinions on what to do about the LEDS problem which I would like to air for people's feedback.  If indeed LEDS has virtually complete control over election results in Colorado, it might take extreme steps to deal with that.  (I saw Rove on TV saying that he was from CO originally, and that it was one of two or three 'swing states'.  He looked quite jovial about the whole thing.  I think TV has some merit, in that it can tell you a lot from people's body language.  But I digress.)

Hope to see you Wed. night at 7 PM.
Margit

Hi All,

I prefer 7:00 because there is a big Open Space meeting that begins at 6:00. I could check in at that meeting and fill out the inevitable city questionnaire before coming to CFVI. However, if 6:30 is preferred, I could just come a little late.

I could report on my e-mail exchange with Senator Ken Gordon concerning his support of mail ballots. Maybe we need to send a letter to Governor Ritter describing Gordon's opinions. Could we put this possibility on the agenda?

Thanks,
Mary

Hi All,
Let's meet at my house in North Boulder this Wed.evening.  (We'll probably be switching back and forth between Laurie Bretz's in North Denver and my house until after the election.
TIME:  If Angie or Joe are coming, we can make it 7PM.  Otherwise, 6:30; I'll let you know when they let me know.
ADDRESS: 3938 Wonderland Hill Avenue.  I'm off Broadway, north of Iris.  After the big hill levels off, turn left (west) at Poplar.  (If you see the shopping center on your right with Lucky's, or the traffic light, you've gone too far.) Turn left at the 2nd crossroads, which is Wonderland Hill Ave; mine is the fourth house on the left; it is red, and unless my visiting daughter makes off with it, my green Subaru Impreza will be in the driveway.  Possible agenda items:
1. Reports on election protection progress
2. Parcel out work to update *larger membership list,* as some of those people live in places we want contacts.  This was last done       in 2005 and then Warren Weiss disassembled the list, so we have been without it for awhile.
3. Discuss what to do about asking SOS and Blalink to resign
4.  Discuss what to do about SOS conflict of interest in selecting  races to be audited in district he's running in, and fact that unobservable machine randomization might not satisfy the law which says it should be public
5.  Developments in the LEDS situation, and is there enough info to get the story out to the media
6.  anything new on present statewide registration database research
7   OTHER???
All are welcome.  Let me know if you can come.  Also, if people need to call in on Skype or speaker phone.
Thanks.
Margit
