Re: PDF's Word Docs plain Text

Alan, Paul, and the rest of the list,

you are welcome, and encouraged, to attach PDFs or Word documents as you
see fit. PDFs and Word documents are published file formats with free
readers available for all platforms in common use.

However, if you do attach files to your posts, please keep the size of the
attachment below 100K. Recently, one list member sent out a 3.4 megabyte
PDF attachment to the list. That is definitely inappropriate. If you
have a file that is larger than 100K that you wish to see distributed,
please send it to me via private correspondence, and I will see to it that
it is posted on the BCV web site.

I also would ask that you not send HTML-formatted messages to the list.

...

I'd like to make it clear to everyone that this list is for discussing
electronic voting machines, not file format preferences. Therefore, any
problems with the above policy should be sent to me personally at
<paul@xxxxxxxxxxx>, not the list. If we need to set up a second list for
debating file formats, I will do so; but it is inappropriate for this
list.
