Hopefully we have returned to civil discourse.

I voted yesterday in the primaries at Manhattan MS in Boulder. It was a totally manual system: a pen used to fill out a paper ballot. Afterwards I had a very nice discussion with the 3 officials who were there and I asked them, "So are you going to have machines in here in November?" to which they replied, "No, don't think so."

What gives? Are they misinformed, or are individual polling places still allowed to use the "old" system? If so, how many of the polling places in Boulder are going to. Not that it matters much to me; I've recently moved to Arvada, where I'll be voting on an electronic box without a paper receipt in November.
