Re: Where's the Beef??? Where was Ralph Shnelvar???
Where was Ralph Shnelvar???
Ralph Shnelvar was sitting outside the County Building at 6:45 that evening
struggling with trying to figure out if I wanted to participate in the
process.
I was sitting on the bench right outside the entrance when Tom Halicki and
someone Tom was talking to walked passed me as I was sitting there trying to
make eye contact. There was no acknowledgement of my existence. There were
no other people besides the three of us on the sidewalk.
Let me try to be fair. It is possible that Tom was so engrossed in his
conversation and so busy with the election that he didn't want to be the
least bit distracted. It is possible that Tom did not recognize me. If
either was the case, I can't blame him.
A few minutes later, Larry, the County Attorney, walked by and he stopped.
He gave me a broad smile. We shook hands and had a pleasant conversation
for a minute-or-so. I accidentally addressed Larry as "Tony" (I don't know
why) and he corrected me. We joked briefly about the electoral process and
then Larry went into the building.
I sat there a few more minutes struggling with whether to go in or not. I
walked by the north-west corner of the building and watched the
hustle-and-bustle of people standing around.
I decided to leave. I have already caught enough nastiness and decided that
my presence would not help anything at all.
