Help me lobby City Council tonite for hand-counting!

Folks,

If you want to prevent ANOTHER expensive stupid voting debacle NEXT
year -and have Boulder County set an example which might prevent
ANOTHER stolen election in 2008- let's lobby the Boulder City
Council, which pays the County to run our elections, for
hand-counting -or whatever slick tech solution you still believe in.

You can email them at council@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx  But I have a
sneaking suspicion their PR people filter stuff before it gets to
the council members. So here are their individual emails:

More impressive is to speak at their meetings, which gets you on
Channel 8 (cable) and on the video official record of the meeting.

They meet tonite at City Hall at the SW corner of Broadway and
Canyon. They allot 45 minutes for "citizen participation" at 3 min.
per person -so you need to be among the first 15 to show up. Come
soon after 5PM to sign up. Participation starts at 6. Sometimes they
let a few extra people speak. You don't have to speak! If you're in
the audience the speakers can ask you to raise your hands if you
support what we're saying.

I'll be there. The more the merrier. If a bunch of people come, it
helps to hold signs. "Hand Count the Vote" would do. If a bunch of
you contact me today, I'll print them up.
