FW: Open Records Request -2004 General Election Computer Files

We have transmitted the attached Open Records Request to the Boulder County Clerk.

Based on our observations during the election, and the results of the Logic & Accuracy Test part-1 and part-2, we have deep reservations about the security and accuracy of Boulder County’s vote counting system and want to verify the results.  The system failed its Logic & Accuracy Test and encountered massive problems during the election.

A similar request made by the Boulder County Republican Party for Primary Election data was not honored by the Clerk’s office.  A citizen’s request to verify the vote counting system using sampling techniques was also not honored.

The public must have access to the data needed to verify the security and accuracy of the election.  Otherwise we are forced to trust people who may or may not be trustworthy and equipment that may or may not be secure and accurate.

Elections are too important to leave to chance.
