This is an interesting tidbit. It seems that other
countries have NOTA (None of the Above) on their ballots. Only the US doesn’t
allow it.
For those that didn’t catch the first part of this: at
the kick-off for the elections committee I requested that NOTA be an option in
all voting for the committee. It was accepted and our first vote included NOTA.

I discussed with former Congressman Bob Schaffer the tactic
of using overvotes as de facto NOTA. He said putting it into the hand
counting pool invites fraud, too. He was an observer at the elections in the
Ukraine, and he said they had NOTA on their ballots.

Thanks Norm,
This was a breeze. If we can get more Ls on county and city boards we can
get NOTA in government. More probability of getting NOTA on the ballot for
the public.
Incidentally, when voting and not wanting to pick any of the choices given,
I fill in all the boxes in a race - not leave them blank. Leaving blanks
leaves your ballot open to fraud, so I overvote. This causes my ballot to be
hand counted.
Overvotes in this fashion is in effect NOTA.
