Bldr election goes well
Richard Harris (ERC member) and I attended the elections in Boulder this
evening. All went well as far as I could see. No technical issues with the
hardware/software. Procedural changes proposed after the 04 primary were
newly used, because the 04 general was so insane as to prevent them from
being used.
The LATs went well also. I watched the last one performed.
So much for voter participation. With about 58,000 ballots sent out, only
13,000 were returned. There were but a handful of overvotes for the issue,
but many undervotes.
The elections division sent letters out to voters that had returned
envelopes unsigned, asking them to come in and sign. This is above and
beyond. The C&R figured that if people bothered to vote, that they'd
probably want their votes to count.
Any of the whiners that want to claim disenfranchisement need to look no
further than themselves.
