RE: Your Election Reform Meetup is cancelled

I had this happen to me last month in Denver which is why I've been promoting the heck out of it to my e-mail lists and asking folks in Boulder to try to support the Denver group this month, so it will happen.  I just got notification from meet-up that the Denver one is approved, so I'm inviting all readers on this list to please visit with us at 1225 17th Street in downtown Denver on Wed., Nov. 12th (Diedrich's Coffee).

I would like to propose that we pick a location for subsequent meet-ups on this topic somewhere between Denver and Boulder, say Westminster or Superior or Broomfield, so we can grow both groups and find strength in numbers.  What do people think of this?

If you wish to chat with me about ideas for the agenda for this first meet-up in Denver, I'm open to suggestions.  My e-mail is bob.mcgrath@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and my phone is 303-460-1825

Thanks!
Bob

This is the flipside problem with the Meetup system. There were only two of us (me and Al) signed up, so they cancelled it for everyone.

And, since there were only two of us signed up, we clearly could set the agenda however we want.

So, despite the group's opposition to using Meetup as our core scheduling system (which is fine with me), can I please ask two or three other folks on the list to sign up (for free) as participants, so that we can use Meetup as a way to announce *our* next meeting to those who might be casually interested. For reference, between the current democratic presidential candidates, there are several hundred people here in Boulder County signed up to attend regular political meetings via Meetup. There were probably at least 100 people at the Dean Meetup tonight where I presented CVV to what seemed like a very interested audience.

Thanks for your help in trying to recruit more people to our cause.

Joe
