I worked on this problem for phone voting 13 yrs ago. You can see my
solution at www.vote.org/secure.htm But this requires a systemic
change in voting -with pin numbers. My solution is not foolproof, but
fail-safe: if votes are somehow changed from how you voted, you know.
It doesn't (by itself) solve the problem of false votes stuffing the
"box" -either paper or electronic.
It's impossible to make politicians -who are feverishly trying to get
this decades-in-the-making problem off their plates- think long-term
or systemicly.
That's why I suggest the only system we're likely to get that people
will trust for now is hand-counted paper.
