As much as I wanted there to be a way that we could have solved the
problem with the broadly accepted solution of verified machine counting
of paper ballots -- and to be clear I am not speaking for CVV in any
way when I say this -- but I fully support a 100% hand count at this
point.
I find the arguments that any machine counting may be unconstitutional
to be very convincing, I'd be curious to hear the opposing opinion.
Hand counted paper ballots: Constitutional verification, cheaper and
more accurate than computers, gives the power back to the people and
puts them to work engaged in the process.
Oh yeah, and it's easy to explain and understand, despite the fact that
it's going to be very difficult to do.
