Re: Comment OPPOSED to Voting System Purchase
Maybe I missed something, but where were all the citizens who support
this decision, other than county staff? I know a number of people who
agree with my position(s) who have nothing to do with CVV, so what? I
didn't claim to be speaking on behalf of CVV.
What matters is not the who's who of my personal supporters or
detractors, but that people get involved and work on the issues so we
stop getting screwed and ripped off constantly, and guess what, that IS
representing the people, even those that don't vote! I'm not at all
interested in running for any office, I'm interested in doing the right
thing for our community, our country and our planet. Seems to me there
used to be a connection there, but to those of us on the outside who
aren't caught up in political aspirations, it's more and more obvious
that's been lost.
Today, at every level of government, there's a worsening legitimacy
crisis because elected representatives don't serve the people from whom
they supposedly derive their authority, no matter what the voter
turnout. I can't be the first person to have noticed this. In fact, it
seems like there was a famous document written some time ago that
warned us this might happen.
What's amazing is that more people aren't outraged, must be a beautiful
silence to those in power.

Amazing isn't it?
