RE: Possible Denver Post Ad

Wow! Much less for local rags, but I suspected as much.

My thoughts are that Westword is the better deal anyway. Readers tend to
have a political and social consciousness; the paper stays in circulation
for a week, and the circulation is pretty wide. Over the weekend I picked up
a copy of Westword in Aspen.
Local independently owned rags are going to be cheaper, and probably a lot
more effective since the ad will be around for at least a week. Also, it's a
heck of a lot more likely that Westword reporters and editorial staff will
care about our issue than at the Post/News.

In Boulder a similar deal is with the Boulder Weekly.

To all,

Ad rate is $24k for 1/4 page ad in the Sunday ed of RMN/DP

www.nacorp.com/NAC2/pdf/2003/RealValue.pdf

When I owned an art gallery the cost of a one inch, three column wide,
bottom page ad for Westword was $800 dollars. The rule of thumb for adverts
in newspapers is that it takes 8 weeks of advertising to make a reader
impression.

The cost for 16 ad spots (3 in prime a.m. and 3 in prime p.m. drive times)
for KVOD was $1600 dollars. I don't remember the exact time frame.

Radio/Televison PSA's are cost effective compared to retail rates (no matter
what kind of discounts one can get).

Sincerely,

Ken
