League of Women Voters changes position to neutral
The League's new statement:
"In order to ensure integrity and voter confidence in elections, the LWVUS
supports the implementation of voting systems and procedures that are
secure, accurate, recountable, and accessible."
Please note the term "recountable". That is important. They have
specifically removed the specific endorsement of DRE machines.

Pls put the word out to your lists. The League of Women Voters of the U.S.
has moved from being opposed to VVPB to a fairly neutral stance. Barbara
Simons and Judy Bertelsen were leaders in this fight. See Barbara's message
below for the wording of the LWVUS statement. Kate Katherine Forrest, MD

Hi, Katherine. Sorry, things have been so hectic and exhausting that I
haven't had time to log on. But I have excellent news to report.
WE WON!!!
The LWVUS must now take a neutral position on DREs. Here is the wording:
"In order to ensure integrity and voter confidence in elections, the LWVUS
supports the implementation of voting systems and procedures that are
secure, accurate, recountable, and accessible."
The important thing is that the LWVUS is now neutral.
Regards,
Barbara
