RE: CallItDemocracy.com - documentary film to include Boulder

Neal,

I'd love to see these so-called rules. I've been hearing about them for
years, but no one will show them to me in print. I was told when I first
heard it that it was the law, then upon demanding to see this law I was told
it was a rule.

When I was in my precinct location and arguing about the 100 foot limit and
trying to make the poll watchers stop having partisan conversations - I
tried to use my cell phone to call the clerks office. The judges became
upset and showed me a printed page (not in the manual, just loose) that
specified that no cell phones would be allowed because they might have
built-in cameras.

I've searched Title One of the CRS for 'camera*'; photo*'; and
'reproduction' and find zip. I think that there is no such law and never has
been.
Watching the TV news I have several times clearly seen ballots. Seen them so
closely as to be able to determine how that voter voted.

Oy! Their lips are moving, so they must be telling the truth? NOT!

Matt Kohn is an independent filmmaker from New York who is finishing
the final version of his documentary on elections:

 http://www.callitdemocracy.com/about.html

A preview has already been shown, but the final version won't be out
until January.

He came out to Colorado to report on amendment 36 (on the electoral
college) and Al invited him to to see what was going on in Boulder.
He thought he'd only stay for an hour, but ended up doing a lot of
filming of the counting process last Thursday night, and also
interviewing a number of local folks.

Stay tuned for the final version....

Whic reminds me - we need to challenge the rules that restrict
pollwatchers from making any kind of recordings (can't even carry a
palm pilot!). Thank goodness for at least some coverage from the
media.
