If I may add my modest comments to the ongoing blizzard, I would like to ask WHY the highly informed, sincere, and reasonable CiITIZEN Kolwicz was excluded from the PUBLIC machine- and procedure-testing opportunities?
...Taking 5 seconds to fill a square with a pen, and then feeding fragile paper through a delicate scanner is a pathetic way to signal a computer! 2nd to hand-counting I favor bringing back the Datavote (punchcard) machines but with public software. Maybe if we pin the blame on those who engineered the Datavote "chad" problems (as testified to by those ballots' printers in Dan Rather's expose: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quFtd5P2Q8g) we can recoup the costs of going back to what worked pretty well since the '70s.
Even a ball-point pen (black or blue), if not bleeding-through, produces a "looming"-through of a shadow-mark, which a sensitive image scanner could easily acquire, encouraging such a faulty remediation.
This country isn't just standing still, it is actively investing its treasure in expensive dead-ends based on "false-flag" incidents.
