Actually, the voting is done in an arena in the public square in the
town center.  To be admitted to the arena, one must have
identification. For the senior men of the old families, their
inherited sword is their identification. Others, women included, use
other ID, and raise their hand, rather than their sword, to vote.
Its a rather nice composition of ancient and modern: guys with swords,
and real democracy.
