82 Reps cosponsoring now.
Separately, I wanted to beat the drum for this link:

I imagine everyone in this BCV list has written their
rep in some form re 2239, but that webform above is a
terrific "idiot proof" way to get your less
impassioned family/coworkers/friends etc to write
their Reps. The letter is already composed, and it
sends it to their rep (they don't even have to know
who their rep is!) based on their address. So, send it
to your whole email address book! If you're feeling
mischevious, you could fill out the form in the name
and address of your aquaintance, & provide you email
address. I figure the Rep's staff just cross checks
the name and address against the voter rolls, so the
email addy should be irrelevant (and, most reps WILL
RESPOND to that email addy, which would leave your
aquaintance a bit confused, if you didn't tell them
what you did, lol). Below is a template you can copy
paste if you'd like, or write a personal note. Taking
the extra time to "personalize" it, ie, say "hello
Joe" and email it separately to all your contacts this
way rather than a long CC list and a "hello all"
greeting-- you will likely double or triple those who
actually follow through on it. Lets get this thing
rippling around email boxes nationwide, and a
consequent wave of letters to Reps urging cosponsoring
2239.

Hello,
I'm not an email chain letter fiend, but once in
awhile something extraordinary like this arises. As
touchscreen voting (e-voting) technology is adopted
across America, it's absolutely vital that these new
systems meet basic standards of accountability and
openness. The Voter Confidence and Increased
Accessibility Act of 2003 (HR 2239) will require
openly reviewed software and voter-verifiable paper
audit trails for all new e-voting machines. This bill
is NON-PARTISAN; only seeking to lay the foundation
for fair elections we can all have confidence in! This
request will take you under a minute. Please visit:
http://action.eff.org/action/index.asp?step=2&item=2821
Fill out your name, address and email in the form, and
hit SEND LETTER. Your proper US Rep (based on your
address) will get the letter shown, urging them to
co-sponsor HR 2239. In the (unlikely) event that
they're already on board, it'll tell you so, and won't
bother them.
If you want to be a real hero in addition to
contacting your US Rep now, please forward this
request to all your aquaintences! If you'd like to
further educate yourself on this matter, you can also

Thank you so much,
